World Youth Transnational Championships, Hefei
A $3,750 contribution to support the five Australian youth teams that travelled to China for the World Youth Transnational Championships held in Hefei.
While the ABF has been able to support Australia’s participation at the World Youth Transnationals through entry fees, uniforms and insurance, players in teams remain responsible for many other expenses associated with attending the Championships.
One area that has proven particularly valuable at previous events is providing team captains with a discretionary budget to support players’ wellbeing. Young players often struggle to manage meals, snacks, laundry and other incidental expenses while competing in international events. Taking these practical concerns away allows them to focus on performing at their best, ensures they are meeting their nutritional needs and reduces stress for both players and captains.
The Foundation was delighted to be able to make a contribution towards covering some of these ancillary costs.
